The town playground at the Ashland ball fields at 99 Main Street was installed 25 years ago and is used on a daily basis. Many of the towns children play there after school or on the weekends. During the softball season, the playground is busy with the players and spectators children. Both the After School program and the Summer Camp utilize this playground.
The playground has seen several repairs over its two and a half decades in service. The wooden portions now have begun to splinter and the metal slide is no longer up to modern standards (gets really hot). The swing set does not meet playground safety codes. Although we are sad to see it go, it is time for a more modern playground. We will do our best to repurpose the salvageable portions of the old play structure.
If you have the means, a donation towards our goal of raising $80,000 by November 30th, 2018 would be greatly appreciated. We plan to replace this playground in the spring of 2019! Check out the Facebook page to learn more about what the new playground will consist of, fundraising progress and events we are holding.
