Save the Cave (Again!)

It was just two years ago that the Cave was almost lost to history. At the news of its potential shut down, thousands of spelunkers from the Cave’s first 50 years poured into the dark little underground… the “Basement of the Southern Part of Heaven.” We attended the “last shows”, wrote memories of Cave experiences, and shared them with friends. Victory was snatched from the jaws of defeat by Cave saviors… supporters, kindly customers, wonderful new owners. Our Cave has since enjoyed two peaceful years; re-establishing itself in the bar and music communities. 


Now not just the Cave, but ALL our beloved bars and restaurants are shuttered… their vibrancy and humanity anxiously waiting on the sidelines until we can joyfully fill them with people again. Those days are coming… but here it is April 1st, just two short weeks after the Covid19 inspired shutdown. There is definitely another dreary month ahead, and it seems likely that that will turn into two months.


We would like to be able to support to our staff, all of whom are missing their paychecks and their tips. If, like so many, you have lost your own paycheck… Please keep what you have so that you can come drink a beer with us on the flip side. But if you are in a position to help, we hope that you will not only donate generously to the Cave, but as well to other bars and music venues that are suddenly left with no source of income.
