The Cowboy Palace Saloon has been a staple in Chatsworth since 1954! Now it may not have always been called The Cowboy Palace Saloon... But it has always been a country bar! The owner even told me someone brought in a picture from the Chatsworth historical society from 1955. It was an Italian restaurant with Country and Western music.
As many of you know there have been 100's of movies, TV shows, commercials and music videos shot at the Palace. In fact it's rumored that LA song writer Scotty Emerick co-wrote Toby Keith's I Love This Bar about The Cowboy Palace Saloon and it's video shot there.
We need to save this historical bar!
The owner Chris Johnson shared with me that during this CoVID-19 closure in LA county he still has to pay his rent, utilities, insurances, ASCAP and BMI monthly. Without the income coming in it's been a struggle and he anticipates this closure extending till 2021 (Stage 4 of the opening plan) as he is considered an entertainment venue (live music) with an entertainment license and dancehall permit.
I am a long time customer and part time dance teacher of The Cowboy Palace Saloon and have been coming to this bar for over 30 years. Many of the dancers have been coming here for that long or longer. It's our home away from home. It's our way to dance our stresses away and do not know what we would do without it.
Please help me save The Cowboy Palace Saloon!
