Save the Eagle Lake Boat Launch

Tax deductible
If you enjoy Eagle Lake, please support the ELPOI in the fight against the closure of the Eagle Lake boat launch as we know it. In 2019 the Adirondack Park Agency, APA, decided that the launch was not in compliance with the state master plan even though it had been in existence since the 1930s and almost 50 years since the master plan was created in 1972. The ELPOI is seeking your donation to support all activities necessary to keep the launch open to the public. This may include legal expenses, letter-writing campaigns, signs, postcards and other means of gathering public awareness.

This has been a battle since we first got wind of it in December 2018 and in February 2023 we were informed that the decision was made to close the boat launch at the end of the 2024 boating season. Without a boat launch access to the beach and camping area will be limited to small kayaks and canoes that can be carried over the barrier. There will no longer be access for lake management activities. ( water testing, invasive species monitoring, treatment and removal ) Access will be nearly impossible for seasonal residents who rely on this boat launch as the only means to get to their property.

We also ask that you click the link to sign the petition. It only takes 15 seconds of your time... Eagle Lake Boat Launch Petition

After signing the petition please do not donate to Change.org The money from that page does not come back to ELPOI.
Thank you for your support to keep the boat launch for everyone!
