Who benefits from your donation?

When you make a donation to the GoFundMe.org Save the Environment Fund, you support urgent needs, as well as broader, pervasive issues tied to the environment.

The Save the Environment Fund is a part of the Environment Cause, which gives you the ability to help both individuals who have started GoFundMe® fundraisers to benefit the planet, as well as organizations championing environmental causes. A single donation supports both community-based and national efforts to protect the environment. 

You can rest assured knowing that we verify every fundraiser to which we give, ensuring that your donation supports various environmental initiatives. Additionally, we will send you regular updates about the individuals and organizations you’ve helped.

Am I eligible for a grant?

To qualify for a grant from our Save the Environment Fund, your GoFundMe fundraiser must serve a charitable class by, namely, benefiting the environment. Example efforts include creating or maintaining free community gardens, organizing public beach or river cleanups, or funding Scout or school projects aimed at preserving nature or otherwise helping the environment. Grants cannot be used to pay for travel or accommodations, even if related to an environmental project or research.
