Save the Everglades Outpost!
Tax deductible
I have been volunteering at the Everglades Outpost since I first moved down to Florida in April 2017. We are a 501C3 animal sanctuary, completely run on volunteers and donations, and I believe in their mission and everything they stand for. We provide permanent homes to surrendered or injured animals/wildlife. Currently we have a bear, two tigers, a Florida Panther, a special needs lemur, skunks, a fox, and over 300 rescued alligators on our property (just to name a few!) As many of you know, I am a state licensed alligator trapping agent, and I rescue nuisance alligators that would otherwise be destroyed. The Outpost has never once turned away any nuisance alligators that needed a home. Even when we are struggling, people continue to dump injured animals on us (MULTIPLE dogs, which we don’t even accept), tortoises and snakes that need extreme medical care, and the Outpost takes responsibility for them, never turning their back on an animal. Last year we were heavily affected by Hurricane Irma. All of our animals made it, but our property was destroyed, as well as our perimeter fence. We have not been able to fully recover from that. Between that, the influx of animals, and not enough donations, I am sad to inform you that the Outpost has enough operating funds for 2 1/2 months, before shutting down. Please help us raise donations and spread the world, and support our mission, so we can continue to save animals.
