Who We Are
The First Avenue Playhouse is a historic community theater in Atlantic Highlands, New Jersey. A one-of a kind gem of the Jersey Shore, this dessert theater is one of the oldest continuously running community theaters in Monmouth County and operates as a 501c3 non-profit organization. The First Avenue Playhouse recently celebrated its 30th anniversary - but we need your help! Since Hurricane Sandy, this unique theater has been struggling. Due to costs of repairs and maintenance, we have fought hard over the past few years to stay open for you, the theater community. However, now we need your help.
How You Can Help
The theater needs to raise $10,000. Actors, producers, playwrights, directors, and theater fans - please consider helping to save this remarkable one of a kind theater. This is a place where legends get their start - the auditions for the classic Kevin Smith film "Clerks" was held here. Many have gotten their start through the assistance of this magical theater. The theater has a long history of supporting the community of actors, writers and directors - and now it asks the community to help in return.
Your Donation
Your donation will go directly to the fund to maintain and upgrade the theater. Such repairs include a new heating system, a new roof, as well as interior/exterior upgrades. Your donation can help keep us singing and dancing for the next decade. Thank you for your consideration.
