Save The Fishers Arms Horncliffe Northumberland

Donation protected
The Fishers Arms Horncliffe is the most Northerly Village pub in England and has traded continuously from 1760 to October 2021 when the current owner closed it. We aim to buy the pub for the community and make it the hub of village life once again. The pub means a lot to this small village and is its only remaining amenity following closures of the School, Village Shop, Post Office, Church & Smithy in recent years. It has also been a traditional place of refuge for villagers during times of crisis and was much missed during Storm Arwen, when the village was without power or communications and some were left without the means to heat their homes or cook food for 3 days - the pub has open fires and LPG cooking facilities. Not only does the pub serve its rural community but also visitors to the beautiful local area as it sits on the river Tweed within walking distance of the iconic Union Chain Bridge. It also sits on Sustran Cycle Route 1 and the Lower Tweed Trail. The villages has already raised over £210,000 towards the sum needed to buy and refurbish the pub however we need a further £80, 000  to c renovate it and achieve our goal. Any donations you can spare to help us would be gratefully received, for further information please go to our website www.fishersarmshorncliffe.org where you can see we have already had support from local celebrities, Robson Green, Si King (Hairy Biker), Kevin Whately and Lindisfarne.
