SAVE THE FRACTAL FACTORY

Dear Fractal Family,

If you’re reading this page, you’ve heard the news. It’s been a rough few years for Fractaltribe, but we’ve pushed through. The system isn’t really designed to support the rebels, but it takes rebellion to sustain an underground movement.

And we’ve persevered.

In the face of a New Years Eve cancellation because of the crack down on venues around the country. In the face of the pandemic that postponed our big comeback year for Fractalfest, and completely dried up our revenue streams. And now, in the face of an untimely disaster. A fire that became the final nail in the coffin.

There’s courage in strength and resilience... But we have realized there is also courage in being open and honest when we need help.

With heavy hearts, we need to communicate that that time is now.

THE SITCH

As you may have heard - the Fractal Factory (our home, our historical venue, our workshop, our temple) was damaged badly by a fire, and the water used to put it out. This ground, where thousands of your feet have stomped, was scorched.

Our completed stages and decor, that thousands have enjoyed over a decade of events, was burnt or irreparably soaked. As a sustainability focused company, we re-use all our past decor in new and creative ways, which we can no longer do.

At a time when the cost of building materials is at an all time high—our equipment and stored materials (used to fabricate all our art projects, build stages, etc) was pounded by 40 gallons of water a second... for hours.
Our electronics, building materials, and everything in storage that we use to create magical experiences for you all was water-damaged and/or fire-damaged.

And shockingly, our very tenancy in this space is being threatened. We are being blamed for a fire nobody could have predicted and are in danger of being evicted, along with everything that is Fractaltribe’s legacy. This would cut off an essential workshop needed to fabricate installations for our events, effectively shutting down a creative maker-space and ending any dreams we had of using the space as a venue ever again.

But Fractaltribe refuses to die, and with your help we can make the magic live on.

OUR GOALS
Our goal is to revive the fractal factory, by making everything that is fractaltribe live on. To not get shut down like every other venue due to the pandemic. To come back stronger, when we are all able to safely, and have the ability to throw another Fractalfest and more legendary events.

For all this, we need our home. And if we are evicted due to no fault of our own, we will need help with turning a new home into the Fractal Factory.

Because the Fractal Factory is not a building, it is the love and effort, art and music, detail and big picture that has supported every event Fractaltribe has ever thrown. It is the idea that you can create anything you can imagine when people who share a love for creativity and artistic expression bring their best selves together.

Your money will go towards:
- Replacement of materials lost to the fire
- Replacement of materials lost to water damage
- Rebuilding of essential deco
- Rebuilding/replacing fire and water damage to the warehouse infrastructure
- Possibly re-housing us in the event of an eviction

We hate to ask for this help because we are committed to earning every dollar our community contributes to us. Within just a month we were planning a livestream event from the fractal factory to raise funds for sustaining it. But this fire terminated our plans and made the situation dire.

We are committed to bouncing back stronger than ever. We are committed to protecting our contributions to art and music culture. We are committed to bringing back a source of energy and joy and a space for creative expression for all people. We humbly request your help in meeting our commitment. Anything helps.

With eternal gratitude,
Fractaltribe
