Save the Future of River's Edge
What’s At Stake:
The purpose of http://saveriversedge.org/ is to save the future of the River’s Edge Golf Course and the River’s Edge Community.
Pahlisch Homes is buying the golf course, with plans to tear it up, pave over the fairways and driving range, and build 350 townhomes and homes in its place. We are homeowners in River’s Edge working to stop this and we need your financial support.
Why You Should Care:
If you live on or near Awbrey Butte: River’s Edge is a scenic open space. Replacing it with 350 homes will mean replacing greenery with urban sprawl and much greater traffic on Mount Washington. Hundreds of vehicles will create longer waits to enter or exit the community at Highway 20 and 97, Awbrey Road, Archie Briggs Road, and more. Map of Rivers Edge Community
If you care about nature: River’s Edge is a sanctuary for a diverse range of wildlife. The last thing Bend needs to lose is its stately pines, high desert scrub, and protected open space to more pavement and construction. Wildlife on the course
If you’re a golfer: River’s Edge is a conveniently located and affordable golf course open to the public just five minutes from the center of Bend. "Offering some of the best golf vacations in Central Oregon and honored to be on Golf Digest’s “Best Places to Play” list." The Course
What Your Contribution Will Do:
Your contribution will help fund ongoing litigation by River’s Edge homeowners to stop the development and preserve the golf course.
Our new website SaveRiversEdge.org will provide Answers To Frequently Asked Questions describing our lawsuit and why we believe it will succeed.
Litigation is expensive and we are up against well-funded adversaries. Your contribution will help us build a financial war chest to make sure we can do everything necessary to preserve this valuable asset to our community.
