Save The Gulches

Save The Gulches! The famous Gulches Trail System(Hackett, Longwater, and others) in Park County! These roads were temporarily closed after the Hayman Fire in 2002 and in the fall of 2022, they were permanently closed in the final Record of Decision for the Pike National Forest. This is a fundraising campaign for the legal defense of those trails. By donating, you will be helping us through litigation to legitimize this area once and for all! Please help us keep this area open to multi-use recreation!

CORE began working to find a solution for The Gulches four years ago and the situation ultimately required legal counsel and then the filing of a legal complaint to challenge the final decision. To deal with the legal battles to save this trail system a new organization was formed, The Colorado Offroad Trail Defenders. This fundraiser is hosted by the Colorado Offroad Trail Defenders, a 501c3 in Colorado. Trail Defenders will be using the money raised for the legal fund to fight the closure of these trails.
