Save The Historic Church In Langdon NH

Tax deductible
You can make a difference by donating today to First Evangelical Congregational Church of Langdon New Hampshire. The Langdon Congregational Church, built in 1842, nineteen years before the Civil War, is the only church in our town of 690 people. It is the only worship space. It is a favorite secular gathering place and it is essential to the architectural character of this NH village. But, the building has become structurally unsound.

The NH Preservation Alliance considers the building sufficiently important and endangered to designate it a 2020 a "Seven to Save" historic building.

A Planning Study engineer's inspection found rotted floor beams, joists and sills, water in the crawl space. There is no handicap access, no secondary egress and there are fire safety issues. The rubble stone foundation is unstable. There is no bathroom. The electrical system is antiquated. The SOLUTION is to rehab the building in line with a completed planning study, while maintaining its character defining features. The good news is, we just received a State of NH LCHIP match grant of $212,800. We must raise about $162,200 more to match the grant.

THERE IS NO GOFUNDME FEE WHEN YOU DONATE ON THIS CHARITY SITE! Help us rehabilitate this church and make it again, a vibrant place for worship and secular activities. You can learn more on Facebook.com/langdoncongregationalchurch .
