Save the Isle of Wight Bat Hospital

Donation protected
From a chance encounter with an injured Pipistrelle bat in 1996 the Isle of Wight Bat Hospital began. After this initial encounter they joined the Isle of Wight Bat Group to receive training and obtained their voluntary warden licenses later on that year. In 1997 they set up the Bat Hospital in their Sandown family home, which they have now been running for 25 years. Each year they rescue around 100 bats, and release an average of 70% back into the wild. During these last 25 years they have saved around 3,000 bats and trained new bat carers all across the country.

Unfortunately in the last few weeks due to major health concerns the Isle of Wight Bat Hospital is now desperately in need of funding to stay afloat. Their circumstances have changed dramatically in a short space of time, and every penny counts to ensure they can stay on top of healthcare and feeding for the wonderful collection of bats they care for and rehabilitate into the wild.

Every donation counts and a huge help to ensuring they can continue their work into the future. Additionally help with bat care is greatly needed at this time, please get in contact if you would like to help volunteering with the Bat Hospital. Thank you.
