Save the LBJ Fire Academy: Future Heroes Need Your Help
Spende geschützt
Help us save the LBJ Fire Academy !
We are a high school based state certified fire academy which upon successful completion high school students graduate and immediately enter the emergency services as EMTs and firefighters.
The academy was founded in 2005 and graduated its first class in 2006.
This year Fire Class 19 started its two year journey!
The academy is at risk of closing because our self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) cylinders will reach the end of service life in summer 2025.
The school district is experiencing a budget shortfall and there are no funds to replace the 70 cylinders required for the academy to continue operating.
We are reaching out asking for any assistance to replace 70 30-minute Scott SCBA cylinders by next summer.
This program is a successful career and technical education program. Our graduates are fire officers, firefighters, paramedics, physicians, nurses, and many other careers.
We want to keep operating and providing this career option for high school students.
