Save The Lehigh Valley Dairy's Historic Panels
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Neil Melcher, a masonry contractor out of the Lehigh Valley. The Lehigh Valley Dairy building is on the verge of complete demolition, and there are efforts to preserve its history before it is completely erased from existence. The building has decorative terra cotta panels dating back to 1947. That’s 77 years of history of a prime symbol of the Lehigh Valley. The project was sold to a private seller which means funding from the local government and public facilities has been denied.
There has been an outcry from the local community to help fund for the removal of the Terra cotta panels to preserve the history of the dairy. The goal of the estimated funding will be for the one set of the two provided in the picture unless more funding is provided for more panels to be saved. Time is of the essence for this project before the wrecking ball takes the entire building. We have been given a rough time of 3 weeks before the building is completely demolished. If a certain amount of money is accumulated for the project, more of these panels can be saved and put in a museum/preserved.
It is paramount that this gets spread throughout the community to bring awareness of the history our great home of the Lehigh Valley has and as citizens of the Valley, we must do all we can to preserve it!
Thank you all and God bless!
