Save the Liberty Ducks Family Farm

Dear friends,
For 30 years, my Dad has built a brand and a business through his hard work and relationships.
I was 4 years old when the first Liberty Ducks came into our garage at home in Sonoma County. Since 1992 he has slowly and diligently worked at growing from our garage to one barn to several barns. We have had the honor and the privilege to not only work with some of the best chefs around (all 200+ of our wholesale customers) but recently also home chefs and cooks from coast to coast. It has been an honor to be truly from our farm to your table.
Right now, we are staring down our greatest challenge yet. After a rough three years through COVID closures and uncertainly, as well as an electrical fire in one of our barns in January 2022, we have watched our safety net continue to erode to near empty. Two weeks ago, Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) was confirmed in Sonoma County. Since this disease is considered highly contagious, poultry farms within Sonoma County were put under strict quarantine including our own. Because of this, we were unable to move or process birds but continued to work on a safe solution for our farms. Last week, one of our smaller production farm locations tested positive.
We worked hard to ensure our other properties are safe and continue to test negative.
I have established this GoFundMe to help our family business survive these unexpected costs during this county wide disaster, as well as help us brace for an uncertain economic future. My Dad is the strongest man I know, and he has such a hard time asking for help. My brother and I are fighting so hard to continue his legacy for another generation and are humbly asking for your support.
From the bottom our hearts, Jennifer and Eric Reichardt
