STORY:

The Frederick Allen Lodge #609 has been the historical heart of Saratoga Springs’ African American community since the 1920’s, serving the humanitarian needs of our city and all her people … and now the Lodge needs us, Saratoga!

Covid19 has greatly impacted the Lodge’s ability to generate monies that sustain their community space and building (located at 69 Beekman Street), as well as their philanthropic work in the community. If we don’t take action, sadly, we might literally lose “Saratoga’s Soul” forever! IMMEDIATE NEED:

THIS campaign will make some much needed renovations happen -- here are the “first steps” on this journey:

Priority #1 > 2nd floor egress with new exterior stairs ($10,000 est.)

Priority #2 > 1st floor: add support & re-surface ($12,000 est.)

Priority #3 > *Kitchen Upgrade: repairs & commercial rehab ($60,000 est.)

In the past few weeks, the larger community has been able to help install the gift of a new furnace and, with the generous labor and support of several local businesses and contractors, things are really “warming up” on Beekman Street! (BIG thanks go out to Capital District Supply , Boyce and Drake Co ., Inc., and Jeff Armstrong!!)
