"Save the Log Building"

Dear Friends,
The Executive Board of the Advocate & District Development Association (ADDA) is hoping to raise $45,000 to cover the cost of repairing the north wall of the Fundy Tides Recreation Centre (aka Log Building) in Advocate Harbour, Nova Scotia, Canada.
For over 40 years, the Fundy Tides Recreation Centre - built by Carson Spicer in 1982 - has been the hub of a variety of important community activities & events (e.g., Canada Day Celebration, Remembrance Day Service, Saturday Morning Market, Open Mic, children's parties, weddings, etc.) as well as being the home of our Community Library.
Unfortunately, significant decay of the logs, along the north wall, was recently discovered and it is now up to the Advocate & Area Community to make the necessary repairs so that the Log Building can continue to be there for the foreseeable future. When asked, at a recent meeting of the ADDA, whether the Log Building should be repaired or replaced, the overwhelming response was REPAIR!!!
And so we ask you to help us in this community endeavor to, "Save the Log Building" and remember that no gift is too small!
Sincerely,
Howie Makofsky
Chair, ADDA
PS We are working on becoming a Registered Charity, however, until that point we are unable to give receipts for tax purposes. Thank you for your understanding!
