Save The Marvel Carriage Museum

The Marvel Carriage Museum located in Georgetown Delaware is an amazing place that takes you back in time of Georgetown Delaware history. The time of the horse drawn carriages, with a great display of well-preserved authentic carriages, including the Queen’s carriage, the Disney carriage, a peddler’s wagon and an 1800’s horse drawn hearse. It also shows the beginnings of communication with its phone history museum, and many historic buildings on the museum grounds that Delawareans and non-Delawareans alike can see the strong history of the First State.  The museum is a nonprofit, that maintains historic buildings like the Marvel Carriage Museum, Ellis School House (1833) two large barns (The Lynch building, can host parties and or gatherings), through volunteers, and frequently hosts educational trips from schools, and is involved with organizing Return Day, the state's famous post-election bash in Georgetown.

When I heard that the museum is no longer getting funded I decided to help them get a go fund me !  
We are looking to raise $20,000 to help save our Delaware and Georgetown history. This museum offers a vast wealth of information of the past. It would be a shame to have our Delaware history be erased.  Funds will be deposited into my personal account and I will personally present a check to marvel museum . 

 

The State of Delaware has decided to cancel the grant given to this Museum due to the existence of the Historical Delaware Confederate Monument & flag being on the property. The grant money was used for utility bills, maintenance & insurance. Your donations would offset these incurring costs to help keep the Museum alive for all to enjoy.

 

This Museum is a part of who we are as Delawareans and is a place where we can teach our children and our children’s children of Georgetown Delaware’s past. Let’s not erase our history.
