Save The Mothership

Taos Mesa Brewing is sad to report that at approximately 2:30 AM on July 2nd 2020, our Mothership location suffered a significant fire. Luckily, no one was injured in the blaze. The Taos Country Fire Marshall and Taos Fire Department were quick to respond and mitigate the fire. We are very thankful for our first responders. Despite their swift and heroic efforts, however, there is significant damage to the Mothership. We will have to rebuild a large portion of our building and try to erase massive smoke damage. Our business was already suffering as a result of COVID--venues were the first to close, and they will be the last to re-open. TMB needs your support to begin to rebuild so that we can host great events once again. Many donors have asked about insurance. It is a fair question. In fact, TMB carries very good insurance. It would be illegal and irresponsible not to. These funds are not immediately released; however, and in light of forced COVID closure, the cancellation of all live music, and now the fire, TMB is facing a cliff event. Our business needs immediate liquidity. Moreover, TMB has already been denied business interruption insurance (as nearly all restaurants and breweries have) as a result of forced COVID closures. We have no idea how much insurance will cover and when the claim will be settled. In the meantime, the bills do not stop.
