"Help Protect Endangered Okapis and Support Rangers in the Rubi-Tele Reserve"
The Rubi-Tele Reserve in the heart of the Democratic Republic of Congo is a vital sanctuary for the endangered okapi, often called the "forest giraffe." This project, led by Jean Kiala-Inkisi of the Kiala-Inkisi Foundation (KIF) and Congolese biologist Dalley-Divin of the Congo Biotropical Institute (CBI) , focuses on preserving the okapi's habitat through conservation strategies like anti-poaching efforts, habitat protection, and community education.
By collaborating with local communities, we aim to reduce human-wildlife conflict and raise awareness about the importance of okapis in the ecosystem. The funds raised will be used to recruit and train 10 new rangers, equip them with essential tools, and support monitoring efforts to protect the okapi population. Community engagement programs will also promote sustainable land-use practices that benefit both wildlife and people.
Your support will directly contribute to the long-term survival
