Save the Osa!
Donation protected
Welcome all that are interested! Normanna Park in Arlington Wa, is a private Norwegian community dedicated to preserving, sharing and teaching Norwegian and Scandinavian culture through many outlets. The community was graciously donated a hand built Replica Viking boat, to help the tradition continue. The boat was built in the 70’s by a local craftsman who has since passed, and his wife and son have shared it with us, knowing it would be best appreciated and shared here. This boat has sailed many local waters to boat festivals, and Scandinavian themed events over the years. At over 30’ long and 27’ tall, this boat is hand built with amazing craftsmanship and attention to period correct detail.
Osa has been sitting and is need of minor restoration, along with a structure to house it. Most extracurricular and educational events are run on donations, and this project is no exception. A picture is worth 1000 words, and having this boat in the park, under a beautiful cover on display, would directly aid in expanding the lessons on Scandinavian tradition and culture to everyone interested. Funds will be directly used efficiently to provide the minor restoration of the boat, and to build a cover structure to house it safely for many years to enjoy on display. Thank you very much (tusen takk) for all your considerations.
