Save the Pelicans
Someone is killing and maiming brown pelicans along the California Coast. These magnificent animals, gracing our coastlines for centuries, were listed as an endangered species for almost 40 years due to pesticide poisoning. Though numbers have increased somewhat, many of these birds are now arriving at their nesting grounds starving for lack of food, very likely due to climate change. Recently, 32 of these birds were found with compound fractures of their wings and other injuries. This means that someone intentionally broke the birds’ wings so that the bones were protruding from the skin, subjecting the birds to infection and agonizing pain. The Wetlands and Wildlife Care Center in Huntington Beach, CA urgently needs your financial help to rescue the pelicans and save those that they can. The Center has already spent over $100,000 rescuing and ministering to these birds. Please donate whatever you can to help these birds and find the person(s) responsible for these atrocities. We send our heartfelt thanks. Read more about the abuse here;
