Save the Pike House: Emergency Roof Repair
Donation protected
Hello! My name is Sal Campbell and I am on the boards of the Eugene S.Pike House Foundation and the Beverly Area Arts Alliance. The Pike House (commonly known as "The Watchmen's Residence") is a home with unique historic, architectural and cultural significance to our community and the city of Chicago. Members of the community have come together to save the vacant home from being demolished and rehabilitate the property to become a cultural community center - a site for artist residencies, concerts, exhibitions, workshops and more.
Recently the Pike House was granted $1.5 million in construction funding from the State of Illinois to rehabilitate the property. However, these funds will not be available for many months. In the meantime, the house is falling into further disrepair. We are concerned that the roof will not survive the winter. Emergency funds are needed to patch the roof so we can save the house until the state funds come through. We need our community to help us bridge the gap! The first $2,500 in donations will be matched by a private donor! Please help us save the roof and protect the future Pike House Community Cultural Center.
