My sister started The Purple Rooster cafe with my Mother 11 years ago. My Mom passed away unexpectedly 9 years ago, my sister was devastated. She picked herself up and carried on. She has developed quite a niche cafe. Catering to the gluten free, vegan , vegetarian foodies. She carries hard to find take home groceries and organic products. Being a business in Massachusetts has had its challenges and Covid 19 has left her scrambling. With no indoor seating allowed and permits required to have outdoor dining it has been an uphill climb to stay open. She has gotten extremely creative with take out. Created a take out bakery she promoted daily on FB. The state finally loosened some restrictions and she got a little relief. But this week the universe swung its axe at her again. The building her cafe is housed in was sold. She has developed such a following. My sister is gluten intolerant so she has a special understanding for others dietary restrictions. Being a vegetarian myself I understand how hard it can be to eat out at a restaurant and enjoy something other than salad. It would be a shame if this cafe had to close. We are going to have to find a spot and renovate and get it ready while she tries to remain open at the current spot. I am going to call in every favor I can to get this done for her. I was just hoping the gluten free, vegan , vegetarian masses would help cover the cost of the move. In a world with so much diversity and hate I would like to show my sister a little love.
