No Divide KC is an arts organization that creates artistic events to build community, social awareness and connection. We care deeply about serving local artists and providing the highest quality opportunities for artists of all types to thrive. We are an LGBTQ+ founded and operated non-profit organization and inclusion is at the forefront of our mission. Unfortunately, we were denied state funding due to Missouri's anti-LGBTQ+ legislation.

The Queer Narratives Festival is a performing and visual art festival that features over 25 LGBTQ+ artists of all identities and artistic mediums. Known for its celebratory and inclusive energy, the Queer Narratives Festival features artists at all stages in their arts practice and represents all artistic mediums and queer identities. Along with the Main Festival, we hold artist-led workshops, panels and meetups throughout the summer. We partner with the University of Kansas Gender Diversity Clinic to present an LGBTQ+ Health Fair where queer people can learn and speak one-on-one with medical professionals.

The state funding we have lost is a huge financial blow not only for this year's festival but for years to come. With so much discriminatory action being taken by our state's legislators it's difficult for us to continue our programs for the queer community. It's also challenging to see our mission of inclusivity being misinterpreted as political actions that cause more animosity and division. This is not who we are.

Here are some testimonials from the Queer Narratives Festival:

"The Queer Narratives Festival is my favorite festival of the year!"

"Kansas City specifically is chock full of queer talent and NDKC is a key part in supporting this community!"

"No Divide KC is playing a crucial role in this community by highlighting the incredible depth and breadth of queer artistic talent we have in the Kansas City area."

"I believe NDKC is at the forefront of necessary active change that maintains and creates contemporary art in all mediums-NDKC should be realized as a point of comparison and inspiration."

"The talent was magnificent, the impact was deep, and this idea and collective only deserve a domino effect of greater success!

"I feel incredibly lucky to have met so many kind, wholesome people in such a short amount of time. My heart has been won over by No Divide KC & Queer Narratives Festival!"
