Thank you to everyone who has been supporting the movement to save the Redwood Drive-In Theater and Swap Meet! This cause is deeply important to us and we could not do it without our community. Our efforts have been entirely volunteer-driven because we are passionate about this cause, however, there are costs we need help with. We are reaching out to the community for support to help us continue this movement.
What’s going on? This community space is at risk of being displaced as the current property owner is in the process of selling the property to EdgeHomes, who is trying to rezone the space from commercial to residential to build condos, townhomes, and houses. This would mean the end to our historic and cultural drive-in theater and swap meet. The drive-in theater and swap meet are more than just a place to watch movies and shop. It is a gathering space where hundreds of vendors and community members come together. It’s a place of connection, memories, and support for local businesses. Losing this space would be a significant loss for our community. The West Valley City Planning voted on June 26 to give a positive recommendation in favor of rezoning the drive-in theater and swap meet. The next and final vote will be with the West Valley City Council sometime in July or August (stay tuned for more details info might change if rezoning is not passed)
What We Need: We are starting this GoFundMe to raise funds to support our fight to keep the drive-in theater and swap meet. The money raised will be used for:
• Printing flyers and posters
• Marketing materials
• Supplies for rallies or events
• Potential legal fees
• Other necessary expenses to push our message of saving the swap meet and supporting the vendors in any way possible.
We are committed to being transparent about how every dollar is spent. If you have any questions about how or where the money is being used please reach out. We plan to create a budget that will be accessible to the public.

The general cause for this GoFundMe is to support the ongoing movement against the rezoning of the Redwood Drive-In Theatre & Swap Meet.
This fundraiser supports multiple community members. The group organizing this fundraiser involves community volunteers who are organizing to preserve the Drive-In and Swap Meet. This would benefit the volunteer organizers to purchase materials needed to keep spreading awareness and support. The money will be distributed based on materials or fees needed.
