Save the Schnauzers From Death in China (Updated 11/28/2020)

A Chinese rescue asked us to take about 20 Miniature Schnauzers who they rescued from almost certain death at Chinese shelters. (Generally, in China, unwanted dogs are not humanely euthanized. They are often killed very inhumanely.)

It is costing us about $2500 a dog to rescued the Chinese Schnauzers--and that does not include any expenses for medical treatment needed after the dogs arrive. The air fare alone costs about $2200 per Schnauzer. Vet bills in China, cargo agent fees, and various other taxes and fees, add another roughly $300 per Schnauzer.

Thanks to some very generous donors, we have received enough donations and adoption fees to cover the cost of the first 6 Schnauzers, who arrived at LAX on 10/14/2020, and  of about 2 of the  8 Schnauzers who arrived on 10/31/2000. That leaves us about $15,000 in the hole.

We will need about $10,000 more to cover the cost of 4 due to arrive in mid-December. And there are still more to come after that!

The first 6 Miniature Schnauzers (2 boys and 4 girls) have been adopted.

Five of the next 8 Schnauzers (4 boys and 4 girls) have been adopted. We sent 2  boys and 2 girls to northern California. Those have all been adopted. One of the 4 who stayed in the Los Angeles area has been adopted. We still have Ann (girl) and Bess and Bert (boys). (See photos below.)

We were hoping for more time to catch up before the third group arrives, but the Chinese rescue advised us that they needed to send more dogs in order to have room to save some at a Chinese shelter which was going to kill them. We and another rescue group therefore agreed to take several dogs in mid-December.

We can only rescue these Schnauzers as quickly as we can pay for them. DONATIONS ARE BADLY NEEDED, as the adoption fees don't come close to covering the expenses of rescuing these Schnauzers.
