The Sirens Song Tavern is a staple in our community. We host live music from local and touring bands. We are one of the few venues left open in our community and this status is being threatened. This past month we were informed our landlord is not renewing our lease- which has left us scrambling to not lose another venue in Humboldt County. We are hoping to quickly attain a new location and move the entirety of the bar over to it. This unexpected news has thrown us through a loop- and we need the communities help if we are going to succeed in the very short time frame that we were given.
The amount we are asking for is an ideal situation- in which we would reopen with all improvements. We can also just reopen and work towards improvements with substantially less. We figure with 12,000 we could move- have all licensing set up- pay people as needed to help us break down bar (we have to return space completely gutted- which means moving some heavy equipment), etc.
UPDATE: For clarity purposes- we changed the amount of our fundraising goal. As the $30,000 that was listed is a goal not entirely expected out of the community. That goal includes any revenue we make. As well as other funding avenues we are pursuing such as loans or grants.
We understand money can be tight- especially around the holidays. There are other ways as well you can show your support. We will likely need volunteers to help break down the bar as we must return the space as a “shell”- we would be grateful as to any leads on viable available space- and of course you can always show your support by patronizing The Sirens Song in coming weeks.
Thanks!
