Save the Skate Park at Harry Todd Park

Back in the early 2000s, a teenager had a vision to better his community by building a skate park. In 2024, it was on the chopping block to be removed altogether.
Today... you can help preserve the memory of Ryan Wilmott, support youth advocacy, community involvement, and skateboarding by donating to our cause.
Tillicum is a land locked neighborhood in the city of Lakewood, WA only accessible by car or bus, as there currently isn't a safe walkable route connecting it to the rest of Lakewood. This neighborhood is home to a very diverse community with various socioeconomic struggles. The City of Lakewood Parks Department is taking the location where the skatepark and tennis courts currently are and are putting in pickleball courts.
Ryan, who tragically passed away in 2023, did everything he could to bring a community together with getting a skatepark installed in his neighborhood's local park. This skatepark is more than just a meeting place for skateboarders and roller-skaters - it's a representation of a beacon of hope for youth. It's a reminder that even though you are one person, even though you might be young, you can still make a positive change and difference in your community.
Ryan's high school friends (who we at the grand opening of the skatepark back in the day) Randi and Tegan have been spearheading this campaign to save the skatepark. They are in contact with the City of Lakewood's Parks Department on restoring the equipment and are working to get a proper estimate of the funds needed to get the park up to it's full potential.
Let's help keep the spirit of Ryan's good doing alive and well.
Original goal is set to $10,000 - however this might adjust based on the discussions with the City of Lakewood Parks Department. At this time, we have regular donations set up through this GoFundMe, but stay tuned for more information on a benefit show and silent auction.
