The Long Drive- After 20 years of annual breast exams, my last had me diagnosed with invasive and non-invasive cancer, in October 2021. Though my doctor is seven minutes away, the drive home seemed to be seven hours. I pulled myself together and notified my friends & small family. Disheartened, for Covid 2020 was how I spent my first year of retirement, mostly alone with my cat Lulu.

Good News?- Surgery beginning Of December, a double masectomy with breast reconstruction though it was only my right one...taking no chances with the left. Labs come back with low cancer score but off to radiation I go (no chemo).

Burned Up- Radiation therapy caused an infection in my right breast to which I had to have emergency surgery. All reconstruction implementation had to come out. Radiation is extremely strong...it can stay with you for years. I have two more surgeries scheduled into June 2023 to correct the issues.

Mo Money-My finances are in tatters with all the medical bills, with more to come. This has trickled over into my living expenses. Hence, the GoFundMe. Like Donna Summer sang, "Hey Mister..can you spare a dime?" Any amount will be greatly appreciated.
