Save these Seymour Iowa Buildings- Phase 1

Our little towns are being hit hard. We, in Seymour Iowa are working hard to keep our town vibrant and necessary. We lost our Grocery Store to fire several years ago. We had a devastating tornado almost 4 years ago, after a lot of tears, hard work and determination we are back better than ever and actually welcoming a few new businesses.
The left side of the building has always been known as "The Pool Hall". I am guessing that 90% of all males attending Seymour High School has been in this Pool Hall at least once. Stories of skipping school and hanging at the Pool Hall are plentiful. During that era, girls didn't really frequent the Pool Hall. It closed in the mid 1980's. References of this era still brings smiles to everyone who ever attended "The Academy".
THERE IS AN ENTITY IN TOWN NOW THAT WILL MATCH WHATEVER WE RAISE $ FOR $ UP TO $4000.00.
Please help us get to our goal!!
The estimates for this project is between $7,000 and $8000. just for the replacement of the floor. Any overage if any, will go toward further work on the space, bathrooms, kitchen area, etc.
This building is divided into two business spaces on the bottom and a large living space over them.
This building was built in 1890. A new roof was completed to stop leaking a few years ago, a great deal of work has been done on the upstairs to bring the apartments to occupancy. There is an Antique/Primitive/Gift store in the right side of the lower part of the building.
The focus of this particular project is to replace the entire floor in the Pool Hall side and add a couple of ADA bathrooms to allow more complete renovation to follow. This open space will be the home of the 2 pool tables pictured and some video games will be added for a place for our youth to have a place to make memories. The existing stage will lend to local musical talent for Karaoke and the "Band" scene. Also planned is a small kitchen area so the very large space can be used for family reunions, class reunions, birthday parties etc.
This is a privately owned building, the cost of restoration of these old buildings is prohibitive. In order to give back, we will offer free pool for a weekend a month as well as random gifting of use of the space for events.
These old buildings are the heart and soul of these little towns and the goal is to left it a little better than we found it. I cannot tell you how much this project completion will mean to our Family and our little town.
