COVID-19 Emergency Food Fund

Here is the problem.

FLOODS,LOCUSTS AND COVID-19 PANDEMIC.
Food insecurity in Uganda is growing rapidly. Prior to the current floods, locusts and Covid-19 pandemic, many people have died and over 500 families have been displaced and in need of urgent shelter and foodhttps://reliefweb.int/disaster/fl-2020-000132-uga Children and the Elderly are starving—feeding on banana leaves and water— hunger is becoming a constant.

Everyday I encounter children moving over 3 miles to look for food and water which puts them at a risk of getting infected with COVID-19. These young stars  are not only facing exploitation but also abuse for instance rape, defilement and early pregnancies— over 60 girls between ages 13 and 15 from one district have been impregnated in just a period of two months. This means they are likely to miss school next academic term when the lockdown is uplifted.

Africans are hit hardest by the crises; covid-19 induced lockdown and WFP cutting it’s support to Uganda by 30% due to lack of funds has left millions of people in Uganda starving most especially children hence affecting their health and education because they cannot read on empty stomach. https://support.google.com/websearch?p%3Dfeatured_snippets%26hl%3Den-UG&usg=AOvVaw3Hy_BEUSFlG8htZuQOaDfe&hl=en-UG&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwj_v7eQm4PqAhWi2eAKHULvC9QQrpwBegQIDBAL">https://www.google.com/url?q=https://support.google.com/websearch?p%3Dfeatured_snippets%26hl%3Den-UG&usg=AOvVaw3Hy_BEUSFlG8htZuQOaDfe&hl=en-UG&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwj_v7eQm4PqAhWi2eAKHULvC9QQrpwBegQIDBAL.  And with the little I have I’m extending help to families such that children are free from being exploited and abused and can carry on with their education to build more resilient societies, and also the elderly who no longer have energy to look for food don’t starve to death but nobody can do everything, though together we can have a lot of impact.
This Emergency Covid-19 Food Program is targeting to benefit 400 families with nutritious food most especially those affected by floods and locusts.

So am kindly asking for your support for this good cause— I know money can be tight, so please know that even $5 helps me get closer to my goal. Together we can save a life of a starving poor person in Uganda who is being hit hard by crises.
