Hi! My name is Timur and I am the owner and operator of Snow-Hut, a ski and snowboard shop in Lafayette, Colorado. You might not know my history of how I came to be in the US and offering the best ski and snowboard tunes around. It all started in Sarajevo where I was a ski racer and my family owned 3 ski shops. Then the war happened and everything, including our shops, were destroyed. I was 17 years old and fought in the war where I was injured 3 times. Eventually, we were evacuated to France and then an eye doctor in NY offered to bring me to the US to help me with my injuries. After a year of living in New Jersey, I followed my roommate to Colorado in 1994 and have been working in the ski industry here since then. After working for other shops for years, I opened my little shop in Lafayette in 2013. Unfortunately, a downward spiral started with the pandemic shutdown and I just haven’t been able to recover. Unless I raise some capital, I will be forced to close the doors. I am coming to you, my fellow snow lovers, for help. Not only is this my livelihood, but it is also the only ski and snowboard tuning shop in east Boulder County serving so many local families that would prefer to not have to take their skis to Boulder or elsewhere for tunes. My customers tell me it is a beloved shop and they don’t want to lose it. It is hard to ask for help in this way but I am out of other options and so here I am asking you to help me save my business and continue to offer the best tunes around.
