Hello and Welcome to Ziba's Bistro a.k.a. Ziba's Restaurant and Wine Bar! If you have never heard about Ziba's, that is because this gem is Grant Park's best kept secret. You can easily find this pleasant locally owned and operated Restaurant off the corner of Boulevard SE and Rosalia St. SE. The lovely owner Marcie creates a beautiful atmosphere to enjoy her take on sustainable and healthy American and Mediterranean food. In addition to the delicious food, the beverages are flowing with handmade cocktails, beers on tap, and a delightful selection of wine. Ziba's embodies the uniqueness of East Atlanta, warmth of your family's kitchen, and the camaraderie of your neighborhood hangout. It is time for the secret to get out, because Ziba's needs all of our help due to the COVID-19 pandemic fallout.
We are the Lugo family, and we started this page to help Marcie SAVE her lifelong dream, Ziba’s Restaurant and Wine Bar. Ziba’s and Marcie have been part of our family since we moved to the neighborhood 10 years ago. We met her while my brother, sister and I lived together while we attended Georgia Sate University. All of us siblings would visit Ziba's weekly with friends and family. This restaurant quickly became our favorite restaurant in Atlanta (and there are many amazing restaurants in Atlanta). Since we fell in love, we have had numerous special occasions there from birthdays to graduation dinners. None more special to me than the first time I took my now wife Leigha to brunch there the first weekend we started dating six years ago because I had to show her my favorite place in town. Now my parents live in the Grant Park home just down Boulevard and carry on the Lugo tradition of weekly visits to Zibas. We have been loyal patrons of Ziba’s throughout the last decade. We love this place.
Due to the pandemic Marcie needs our help. She went from having one of her best years ever to struggling to pay the daily expenses. Unfortunately, she was not able to take advantage of the Paycheck Protection Program and has been surviving on shear tenacity. These funds will help her catch up on her past due bills, help her cover her taxes, business license, insurance, health permits, liquor taxes, liquor permits, etc. AND also to help her keep her wonderful staff employed.
She needs the funds urgently to help bridge the gap from now until the pandemic comes under control and we can get back to a more normal life. Ziba's is in danger of closing their doors due to lack of funds available and the most recent spike in COVID cases keeping people at home. With the vaccines that recently were approved our hope is by June/July she will be back in full swing. These funds will help her get to the other side.
Again, we love Ziba’s and Marcie and can’t imagine her not being part of our community. It would be a tremendous loss to the neighborhood and absolutely break our hearts. I am sure everyone else who has spent a night enjoying everything the restaurant has to offer feels the same way. She has worked so hard and Ziba’s has been a great neighbor for many years. Your support would mean the world to her as an expression of what she has built means to all of us.
Our family has already donated directly to Ziba's, against Marcie’s wishes, by writing a check due to the urgency of her needing funds to cover current liabilities. She refused our offer as she is fearless and wasn’t looking for a handout. Fortunately, as a family we were able to convince her being she has been so generous to us over the years.
Then it dawned on us that if we were willing to help we felt certain others would want to as well. So we started this page and with sincere gratitude and hope you will join in and please help us SAVE Ziba’s!
