Save Allan's Voice - Cancer Fund

Hi my name is Allan.  Last year I was diagnosed with Cancer in the left vocal cord.  Conventional medicine (eg radiation, chemo, surgery) is a path I don't really want to take.  This path will leave me with a hole in my throat that I will breathe through, having taken out my larynx and installed a permanent tracheostomy.  My voice would be no louder than a whisper once I learn how to talk again.  The after/side affects of the radiation could in time cause the disintegration of any bone material in my neck and jaw area, as well as damaging the thyroid and parathyroid glands.  The chemo is just plain poison. 

Alternatively, there are other treatments to beat cancer that I feel  are as effective or more effective than the traditional methods.  There are a few promising ones that interest me, AARSOTA and RIGVIR to name a couple.  AARSOTA is a therapy that takes a sample of your own cancer, modifies it, then feeds back to you to enable your immune system to recognize and destroy it.  RIGVIR is a viral therapy developed to attack cancer cells.  There are clinics around the world that sucessfully use alternative/advanced methods to treat cancer.  These treatments are not yet covered by our medical system or insurance programs.  
 
I am very concerned about the growth rate of the cancer in my throat.  August 12th, 2016 I had emergency surgery performed to remove cancer that had grown to close my airway 75%.  I could not lie down, I had to sleep sitting up or not at all.  The surgery has given me more time, but is still limited.  If surgery is required again, they will give me a tracheostomy. I was so lucky the first surgery and the doctors will not try just surgery a second time around.   So utlimately, the sooner the better for me to raise funds, to enable me to take a path that can save my voice....permanently.  The doctors have said at the time of surgery that I would have about four to six weeks before closing the airway again.

I would dearly love to be able to keep my voice.  I like being able to talk to people, to laugh out loud, to whistle for my dog, to yell words of warning, to tell my wife & son out loud that I love them.

If I can do alternative therapy for a healthier and better treatment, rather than the traditional treatments that are known to cause cancer later on, then I would have better health and longevity for the remainder of my life.  I would be so blessed to have so many people that cared to help me save my voice and my life.
