Save Crow From Cancer

Donation protected

This is Crow's Sarcoid Tumor. We have been battling this sarcoid for some time. There is a treatment option with a very high rate of success that is sort of our last resort. Our veterinarian for this issue is Dr Barbara Page of Adobe Veterinary Center, Tucson AZ. While basic, not risky, and not involving harsh medication, tackling this procedure financially is difficult for Wild Hearts Rescue Ranch Inc, at this time. It has taken everything we have to stay open. Summers get rough.

Crow's Story

Crow was a criminally abused and neglected horse surrendered by a relative of his abuser during a local scandal involving severe child and animal abuse being disclosed by terrified children. Crow was emaciated, injured, his penis was mutilated and needed drastic care, and ultimately amputation. He has healed completely from his abuse. He is a beautiful, loved, sanctuary horse and the best friend and heart horse of Wild Hearts Owner, Jessica Gray. That's me. I fought tooth and nail to see his abuser convicted successfully, including court appearances and community calls to action. It worked. Crow and I have lived peacefully in the service of others ever since. He is why there is a Wild Hearts Rescue Ranch. I've spent several thousand dollars fighting this, quietly, and we had some successes and some failures. Cryosurgery, XTerra compound, debulking and topical treatments to name a few. This new treatment offers complete cure in 11 out of 18 cases and it won't make him sick. In tears as I write this, I don't know how to adequately express what this horse means to everyone who knows him. He is otherwise healthy and has the biggest personality... He touches deeply everyone who comes to see him. For Crow, for me, for everyone who knows him or wants to know him, please help save his life. This is such a sad situation, and we would never leave him in incurable pain. This thing has gotten aggressive. We have to stop it. I haven't slept well in days. I'm sick, at times, and so terrified I feel like I cannot breath. This is not my old enemy, other cancer I have lost so many cases too... This is sarcoid. It is beatable. There is proof. I am barely getting a firm understanding of the procedure but it is basically a special cryosurgery with use of some of the tumor to stimulate the immune system to attack the tumor sight. It is minimally invasive, not agonizing, and has an 11 out of 18 success rate. The other seven cases showed improvement or control of sarcoid and an absence of new formation. I feel like this is the most cutting edge, humane option. We saved him from his desperate situation four years ago. That was far worse and he came through all that with flying colors. You're backing the right horse. You're backing an owner with more dedication to his safety and wellness forever than you can even begin to comprehend. This horse brought me back to life. I can't imagine what I would do with out him. You may well be saving me too. I have worked tirelessly in animal welfare and rescue for 16 years now. I don't know how to thank the people that have helped make this case and others a success, but to give my life to the animals and the good owners who need our help from time to time. Please save us. Please. I'm sorry for any errors or lack of eloquence. I can barely see through the tears or hear over my heart. This is more difficult and frightening than I have adequate words to express.
