Help us Save Fire Ravaged HM157
Donation protected
Our beloved creative family and heart of the music and art scene in East LA - HM157 suffered a devastating loss today in a fire. Luckily no one was hurt, but the back yard area was lost along with the performance space, an RV and an Airstream, leaving 2 residents without homes - they lost everything. The neighbors were affected too - a burned car and half the house.
While its too soon to know how much they need, we do know they intend to rebuild, and will have a lot of additional costs to cover. I'm setting a high goal so they can recover from whatever the damage will be as well as the loss of income from events that are now cancelled.
I've not only performed there as a musician, but just a few months ago hosted a fundraiser there where I learned about their generosity, hard work, community spirit, and ginormeous hearts. Their support was more than I could have ever hoped and the space was nothing short of magical. I know I'm not alone in my heartbreak seeing the pictures of the damage.
Please spread the word and give what you can to save this space that gives so much back to the community of Lincoln Heights and the arts community in LA as a whole.
