Help Joe Skulan recover from a quintuple bypass

Joe Skulan started feeling terrible one day. Exhausted, in pain, and unable to work for over a month despite his best efforts, he sought medical advice. To his surprise, the doctor told him he had suffered a heart attack. Not only that, but he would need a quintuple bypass... and fast.
And then his car broke down.
Joe needs our financial help or he could lose everything.
It could happen to any of us. One turn of bad luck followed by another, and suddenly we're unable to work, unable to support ourselves and about to be saddled with medical debt.
In such moments we can only hope that the kindness and the generosity of others will be there for us.
Please help Joe. He's one of the best people I know.
Kindness and generosity have always come naturally to him. Now he needs a little in return.
The prognosis is good. He will recover...
But without our help, he could lose everything
He won't be able to work for months and has already been out of commission for some time, and he's facing big medical bills on top of the daily cost of living. If we don't help him eat, he will have no food. If we don't help with his mortgage, he will lose his house. It's up to us.
That then is our task. To save a good man. A man who has never hesitated to put good out into the world. He has paid it forward all his life. Let's pay it back.
Let's be the world that we all hope will be there for us if we fall on hard times.
Let us be to Joe, what Joe has been to so many others.

Joe is many things. A scientist, a paleontologist, an activist, an educator, a friend, a father... He pioneered revolutionary medical applications of isotope chemistry, including developing a method of rapid detection of bone loss from calcium isotopes in urine; he helped defeat the GTAC mine when they were going to poison the Penokee Hills; he erected the first dinosaur skeleton to be put on exhibit in Wisconsin... But above all else, he is a good person who needs our help and wouldn't hesitate to help us if our roles were reversed.
How can we help?
Our donations will go toward medical costs and helping support Joe for the long months of recovery, paying his mortgage so he doesn't lose his home while he is unable to work, paying utilities, taxes, etc, and if possible, fixing his car.
If you don't have money there are other ways to help.
Those of us who can't contribute financially can do other things. Cook food, help clean, fix his car, even just sharing this campaign with others can have a huge impact.
Together, we can be the kind of world that helps people up when they are down.
