"Live simply, that others may simply live"
My name is Shawnee and about 40 years ago when my first daughter, Wren was born I realized that I could NOT live indoors with air conditioning. Closed windows, doors, and even screening made me anxious. This seemed like a simpe problem.
I lived in several dwellings, such as tiki huts and Native American Teepees, but for the last 25 years of my life, I have lived in my favourite home of all, my tree house.
For me it was freedom, it was how life was meant to be for me.
I raised my adopted daughter Lantana in a glorious Pithecellobium, where we found our roots. She thrived, I thrived, and the raccoons, dogs, squirrels, iguanas, and owls were all happy until code enforcment came into my life two years ago and began destroying the peace we all had.
I have paid about $12,000 in fines, violations, and doing everything possible to make the yard acceptable for code. I have with demolition and rebuild of the treeshouse about $50,000 in costs and I'm paying an architect right now and have not received a final estimate.
I've had to hire an architect who is drawing up plans for 2 structures that are set for demolition and bringing my tree house to code.
They want all my electric out, as well my simple little sink and my tiny propane stove/oven.
I'm praying that they leave me and my beloved treehouse alone!
Any donations would be appreciated and everything helps.
All donations will be going directly to my architect and demolition crew.
THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR SUPPORT!!!!!!!!!!!
