Help Save THE CUBE, a Toronto Heritage Landmark
Donation protected
THE CUBE HOUSE, an aesthetically unique & unusual project built by architect Ben Kutner and his partner Jeff Brown in 1996, is an iconic & timeless cultural landmark in the East end of Toronto, located in the Corktown District, known for it's whimsical & one-of-a-kind art deco & Bauhaus (German & Dutch) design inspired architecture. To many local artists, musicians, producers, and creative professionals it's considered a unique & iconic architectural structure, the inside of which they call their creative home.
It was announced that Toronto's iconic cube house was scheduled for destruction/demolition to be replaced by a 35-storey residential building, making architecture and urban design coinesseurs up in distraught arms. For over 20 years, the Piet Blom-Dutch Structuralism inspired studio spaces at 1 Sumach Ave have mystified, stunned, & left wonderstruck on a daily basis the pedestrians & drivers heading to/from the Don Valley Parkway. The creative/professional studios inside the TriCube landmark which are available for business and personal rental, are full of natural light, greenery, and unlike anything you'd likely have been inside before, albeit a little aged.
At The Cube, we offer not only fully functional recording studios for all avenues and trades in the creative/music/audio industries, we also curate experiences unlike any other, providing all the equipment, sound/mixing gear, visual & light equipment, creative production setups, and space for creative inspiration/motivation to create and produce such innovative projects and creative projects. With our one of a kind production space, we can ensure any event a success, and one of most distinctive event spaces in the city!
To keep the Cube House and the creative industry in Toronto alive, we are opening up any donations to keep up with rental costs and costs needed for production maintenance and space upkeep needed to keep the studio space from demolishment, and with only 2 weeks (JANUARY 31) time to save the Cube.
Any donation amount helps and will be used in any capacity to keep The Cube and it's community of artists and producers alike, alive - whether it be at the Toronto cultural landmark that is The Cube House, or another creative hub.
