Help Keep This Family Together!

Mike & Jeanne Gapper are in a deep family financial crisis.  After the dedicated father lost his job, the Gappers and their 2 children have been evicted from their home.  Sadly, the only way they can avoid being homeless is to live separately - with different friends and family who don’t have room for all 4 family members to live under one roof.  Also, Mike’s car is being repossessed and he will no longer have transportation to go to job interviews.

The Gapper family has struggled to make ends meet, ever since Mike injured his neck in April of 2003.  He has endured 3 painful neck surgeries, including the placement of a total of 8 plates and 12 screws in his neck.  His injury has left him with restricted movement, eliminating him from many job opportunities. He has only been able to work part time, and has lost multiple jobs due to his limited movement and daily struggle with pain.

Mike is on the brink of losing everything that he loves, except for his faith in Jesus Christ.  Please help him get back on his feet, and find a way to keep his family together.

Since Mike’s injury, the Gapper family’s livelihood has changed tremendously. Mike has been unable to play sports or do anything active with his beloved children.  Sadly, he wasn't able to share his gift of being an outstanding youth coach for their activities. Instead, he has been involved in their lives and the lives of other children through involvement as a dedicated Chapter Dad for the George Washington Chapter Order of DeMolay International.  This organization was founded in Kansas City, Missouri, in 1919, is an international organization for young men ages 12 to 21 of good character. The Gapper family worships their Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Michael Gapper, Sr. volunteers for children in the Inland Empire in many ways.  He is actively involved with the sports program of Hillside Community Church in Rancho Cucamonga by helping to run multiple softball teams where he helps lead fellowship amongst men each week.

Mike also serves as the Southern California Jurisdiction Athletic Director for DeMolay, while his wife, Jeanne Gapper is the acting Sweetheart Advisor for GWC DeMolay. Together, the Gappers help teach the youth of the organization Parliament procedures and public speaking.  Many of the boys who they assist come from broken families.  Often, Mr. Gapper steps in to help guide the many young men who do not have a father in their lives. Mr. Gapper is known to say, “We are not their replacement Dads but we like to help these boys wherever help is needed.”

Jeanne Gapper is an assistant Mother Advisor for Sunshine Rainbow. Together, her and Mike help with their Daughter’s group “Rainbow for Girls”. This group is for girls what DeMolay is to the boys.  Their daughter Molly is the Grand Representative for Rainbow for Girls to Michigan and Italy.

Please give to them, and help keep the Gapper family together, under 1 roof – and please pray for them to get back on their feet financially through Mike acquiring a job where his physical limitations are not a factor.
