Saving Alvin
Donation protected
Alvin is an Appaloosa pony that was slated for slaughter at Stanley Brothers South Florida Kill Pen. I came across a facebook post last week to save him, he only had 1 day before he was to be shipped to Mexico for horse meat. I could not help myself, I had to save this beautiful and sweet little pony. I paid the dues to remove him from the kill pen - this was the easy part. Now I have to ship him from Fora, Mississippi to Jackson, Wyoming. The horse transport will cost $2,300. Once Alvin is here he will have a beautiful home in a ranch in Wilson with a huge field to roam with 3 mini donkeys, a rescue bull, and 5 horses as his new best friends. He will be spoiled rotten and a pony for young children to learn to ride on. Everyone is welcome to visit Alvin, give him a pet, or a carrot or even schedule a time to have a pony ride for your child. I just need a little help accumulating this chunk of money within a week. Any help is extremely appreciated.
Stanley Brothers is one of the biggest horse slaughter operations in the United States. Most of the animals are neglected and abused before being killed in the pen or shipped off to Canada or Mexico for slaughter. Shockingly, last year, approximately 80,000 American horses were trucked over our borders to be slaughtered for human consumption. Slaughter is a brutal and terrifying end for horses, and it is not humane. Horses are shipped for more than 24 hours at a time without food, water or rest in crowded trucks. They are often seriously injured or killed in transit. More information about how terrible the horse slaughter industry is:
