Saving Angie's life, her MS story.

Donation protected

Hi friends, My name is Chelsey Germundson, ( niece  to her right in  the above  camping picture from 98) and I am am hoping to raise money from this campaign to save the life of one of my best friends, my aunt Angela Wilson. She would never do something like this for herself, as she tries to get by the best she can with tremendous support from her husband Jeff, but this is now the time when she needs as much support as possible, truly her last chance with a new found diagnosis for her cure. Those of you that know her can attest to her positive attitude, big heart ,and kind and gentle spirit. She had her whole life ahead of her, until she got diagnosed with MS in 2008 at the early age of 35. Her disease has progressed so quickly that she currently has one of the worst cases of MS in the state Iowa. The attached video is from 2012 at UofI Hospital where she was finally able although struggling as you can see to take 25 full steps, something that the majority of us take for granted everyday but this was by far the highlight of the last few years for her. She is now at a point where she cannot stand up to even get out of her wheelchair . Currently as of 2016 her neurologist says she has Secondary Progressive MS and a new doctor says Chronic Neuro-Lyme with co infections. This is HUGE! With Lyme now being a know factor they can get to work on additional treatment options for her, although it's almost incurable BUT not impossible! For those of you already familiar with the MS disease all of the lesions are on her spine and not her brain which is a blessing and a curse really as she is so determined and so smart mentally but trapped in her own body physically. She has taken advantage good and bad of every option of treatment since 2008 offered to her from infusions that would temporarily help her stand up, to conforming her diet to Dr. Whals protocol under Dr. Whals care herself. Angie desperately needs 24 hour home health care(some days she can't even lift medicine to her mouth she's so weak , and at night she has to be rolled over ever few hrs) physical therapy, massage therapy, IV antibiotics, and additional health supplements on top of what she's currently taking recommended by her new doctor. We understand that this will not be a race but a marathon and with financial support from you, and emotional support from our family, I am confident she not only will walk again but live! The last thing I want you all to know is that of course we are doing this for her but we are also doing this for all of you, our friends, friends of friends, and families who unfortunately have the possibility of getting MS diagnosed sometime in your lifetime. With studies like Angie's and documented positive treatments this can help save more lives than just hers! We are all in this together so let's fight together to not only save Angie but help find a cure for MS! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking the time to read this, and any support that you are able to offer from donations to positive vibes and prayers will be greatly appreciated and truly life-changing! Please share to as many friends as you can, the sooner she can start the new treatment the better the chances of a positive outcome for her!!
