Saving animals in Cyprus

My name is Clare, I'm trying to raise funds for my sister Pauline who has been in Cyprus for 33 years rescuing and saving abandoned cats and dogs without any funding.

Now her situation has deteriorated because of the increasing numbers of abandoned animals and irresponsible people refusing to neuter them. At present she is looking after 65 cats and 6 dogs and in the last week has found an abandoned mother with 7 puppies. Fortunately, 2 have been rehomed and we are planning to bring 3 puppies to some of our family members in Ireland.

Despite her strength and determination over these years, Pauline is reaching a breaking point beyond her control. It costs 800 euros monthly for animal food, over €2500 for flea treatment per year and €900 for deworming tablets. Her ongoing vet bills come to over €1000 euro per month. On top of this, Pauline engages in extensive efforts to stop the animal overpopulation problem from getting worse. She spends approximately €700 out of her own pocket monthly to neuter stray and feral animals in the surrounding countryside.

The present shelter is too small and she needs to extend it to accommodate future strays.
