Saving corals leg
*WARNING GRAPHIC PHOTOS*
It’s raining medical cases.
Meet Coral! we rescued coral from the high kill shelter where she was signed off for euthanasia due to some severe wounds and a fractured femur. We could not let happen so we quickly got our name on her and pulled her. Got in touch with dr rose, who was Already home but so kind to look everything over. They are the best!
We have coral scheduled for surgery on Friday! We are hoping between now and then we can get her a little chunkier and hydrated.
I suppose I should explain corals story! Coral was found in a car engine and left there for two days. Not sure what occurred in the car but she came out pretty beat up. Don’t keep reading if you don’t want to know.
Corals most obvious injuries to the shelter was the wounds on her. While sedated they did xrays and found the femur fracture. I just knew we had to save her.
So here she is! Dr SAbshin and I have a plan for the wounds and Dr Rose will be taking care if the femur. She came to he hypothermic but is now warm and toasty with her blankets and heating disc.
We don’t know exactly how much the femur fracture repair will cost at the moment, they have to get an estimate put together for us. We are guessing in the range of 2600-3200 as that’s near what our last one was
If anyone would like to make a donation it would be soooo appreciated. We are swimming in kittens and medical cases.
Any and ALL donations count. $1, $10, $100...it all adds up if everyone who has something to give, gives. These poor babies don’t ask to wind up like this and they need your help. If you can’t donate please share with your kitty loving friends.
