Help Restore Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery

Supporters of Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery, Marion County, TX
Our church story began in 1886. A few local families decided to purchase land to construct the original building that was later burned in 1970. Members of these families are buried in this cemetery. Construction of the new church was completed in October 1971 and has been in continuous use.
This fundraiser is to assist in the restoration and preservation of our historic Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery. Home to generations of our ancestors with gravesites dating back to the 18th century. Our ancestor’s graves are in drastic need of attention and care.
Funds will be used to clean, reset and repair stones, monuments and markers. We have set a goal to purchase burial markers for ancestors without them. Professionals, as well as trained supervised volunteers, will do the work with appropriate tools and biodegradable solutions.
Fundraising dollars will be used for:
1. Obtain a land survey to verify recently located boundary lines of the cemetery.
2. Purchase burial markers for persons without them (especially those buried in the late 1800s and early 1900s).
3. To purchase a fence for the perimeter of the cemetery. *Note: fencing material was purchased last year earlier this year.
4. General landscaping and installation of grass for the cemetery. The lack of grass in the cemetery is partially responsible for sinking gravestones and soil erosion.
5. General upkeep and maintenance of the cemetery
