Saving Geelong and District database and web

Well, things have got a tad more dramatic / urgent. I can no longer access my original database - zades.com.au - and have to pay someone to repair it so I can transfer to the more recent site. It has been on an OLD site that is now not working at all and it looks like I'm going to have to pay someone to resurrect it! And of course that's an additional expense but has to be done to move it to the new site. NOTHING IS EASY. They sent me instructions to "fix" it - only problem I understand only TWO words in the instructions. "The" and "a"!!!!!!!!!! I REALLY NEED HELP>

My name is Susie Zada and I volunteer with everything to do with Family History and Local History in the Geelong and Bellarine district. For those who have ever used the Geelong and District database or website, it can no longer be maintained on zades.com.au with outdated software. It has partially moved to geelonganddistrict.com but as you no doubt know, costs for EVERYTHING have increased dramatically.

As an aged pensioner with no other income, I have extended payments and adjusted as much as possible. Payments for things like insurance, motor vehicle expenses etc. I have continually spread those payments where possible but unfortunately every extension (from yearly, to half-yearly, to monthly) makes it easier to keep making payments but increases the overall costs quite dramatically.

To maintain the website, there are HUGE discounts when you pay for 3 years at a time. but with all other expenses costing more and more, I don't have the funds for even one year.

It would be so easy to delete the entire database and website and totally eliminate those expenses BUT I have spent more than 20 years building this resource for researchers in Geelong and District and the Bellarine region in Victoria Australia. There are more than 1.7 million records in this database together with 100s and 100s of web pages of information.

This is also how I devote my time and keep my brain active - so important at my age. Where possible I have stopped any subscriptions for just my benefit and limited it to essential subscriptions, including large space in the cloud to protect the database, data, and website.

Please help me keep this resource going.

Note this system defines 3220 as Bareena, Victoria - it won't let me change this to 3220 Geelong!

Some of the difficult things to add here - I have recently found FeedMe Geelong which is wonderful as I have had not had enough money some fortnights to buy food. And of course having Type 2 Diabetes my diet is crucial - FeedMe Geelong has fresh fruit and veggies.

Another serious issue - I need new glasses - unfortunately they can't re-use my old frames as they have been re-used too often and are to old to do that again. They lenses are pensionser cheap but that doesn't help a lot with no frames. And of course that means I'm struggling on my computer without updated lenses.

It does seem to go round in circles.
