HELP SAVE KIMO ADAMS ʻĀINA & FAMILY HOME

PRESERVING A CULTURAL HERITAGE
Towering Koʻolau Mountains protect the windward lands of Kaneohe, blessed with ample
rains, nurturing the productive earth. These ancestral lands nourish generations of
families. The inherited lands continue to be cultivated, feeding the children born onto
these lands.

It is now seven generations that have called this land their homestead. Seven
generations have cultivated the soil and have raised trees whose flowers were strung
into lei for hula dancers, storytellers, politicians, graduates, birthday celebrants, and
many others. Culturally, this prized lei appears in song and chant, praised for its beauty
and it's symbolism.

Kimo Lupekapukeahomakaliʻi Adams is a third generation lei maker. He is a direct
descendant from the generations that have toiled on the land. It was his mother "Auntie
Mary" that fortified the importance of preparation and caring for the flowers,
strengthening and extending its shelf life. Known throughout the hula community for the
most beautiful lei, her legacy continues with her son Kimo.

This inherited ancestral land is now is jeopardy. Your help is needed to preserve the
cultural heritage and the legacy of the many generations that have cultivated this land.

CURRENT STATE
Ownership of the land was passed down to the children of Aunty Mary. Each was given
an equal share in the property. According to Hawaii state law, ownership of each share
passes on to the surviving spouse if one should die without a will. This situation has
surfaced as one of the children’s surviving spouses is demanding that her share be sold
as she never plans to return to live at the homestead.

The state court has laid down the rules that Kimo has until May 3rd, 2021, twenty some
days, to come up with her 27.8% share of the ownership of the house. In the event that
he fails to do so, the court will force the house to be sold on the open market. Home and
land has just been appraised and that 27.8% portion of the house equates to
approximately $300,000.00. Kimo lost his full time job due to COVID and cannot qualify
for a loan.

EMERGENCY REQUEST
Your help is needed to fund the court’s demand. Please help Kimo retain the ancestral
lands as his parents had desired. Help him preserve the cultural heritage of this
ancestors. Allow him to continue making lei as his mother had before him, and her
mother before her.

!!!ATTENTION!!! For LARGE donations ($10,000 or more) of support please contact me and/or Kimo Adams directly. We have to have all the $$ ready to go before the court deadline, no exceptions. Large donations are better in check form.
