Saving Isabella: A Tale of Unwavering Love & Heart

Meet Isabella, my furry companion whose boundless love and unwavering loyalty have redefined the meaning of "man's best friend." As I grapple with my own health struggles, Isabella and my other dogs have been my rock, my source of joy amidst life's storms for the past nine years. Most of you know I broke my leg on August 3rd, 2023, and I'm now facing my third surgery. While I’m lacking in bone, Isabella swallowed an extra bone. Only God knows why and how this happened. I trust his plan and path, but now I'm reaching out to my friends and family for any support you can provide—prayers, thoughts, hopes, funds, or even just shares—everything is greatly appreciated.

Recently, our lives took an unexpected turn when Isabella fell ill. On Valentine's Day, my intuition whispered that something wasn't right. Rushing her to the emergency room, my fears were confirmed—an ominous shadow on the X-ray hinted at trouble lurking within her delicate frame.

It was a knee bone treat, innocently given to her, as I researched these bones would be safe if ever swallowed they would break down naturally in their stomach, yet that proved to be her undoing. Lodged in her throat, perilously close to her heart, it posed a grave threat to her well-being. Despite the efforts of our current veterinarians, the initial procedure to remove it failed, leaving Isabella's throat ravaged by esophagitis and the bone still in there.

As she lies in the hospital over the weekend, fighting a battle she never asked for, my heart aches with worry. The toll of medical bills weighs heavily on my mind, knowing that every moment she spends alone and in pain is a moment too long.

Yet, hope flickers in the darkness. A specialist offers a glimmer of possibility—a chance to retrieve the bone through a delicate procedure. With their expertise and advanced techniques, they believe they can succeed where others faltered.

But the road ahead is fraught with uncertainty. Another scope is scheduled soon, demanding a hefty sum. With possible complications during and after the surgery. And if all else fails, the specter of esophagus surgery, with its daunting risks and exorbitant costs, looms ominously.

Help me bring Isabella back home and healthy where she belongs, where her tail wags with joy and her eyes shine with love. UPDATE: Great news everyone!

I'm thrilled to share that the specialist successfully retrieved the bone from Isabella's esophagus with minimal damage! She's back home with us, safe and sound, and now begins her road to recovery. These next couple of weeks are crucial as we focus on her medication regimen and hope for no lasting damage to her esophagus.
